Styrke & Stillhet: The Strength to Be Still
Our Movember Ritual at Søle Nordic Wellness
November always brings a certain stillness to Alberta. The air sharpens. The fields lie quiet after harvest. And for many of us, it’s a season that calls us inward — to reflect, to rest, to remember.
For me, it’s also a month that carries deep meaning. In 2019, I lost my father to prostate cancer. He was a proud Alberta farmer of Norwegian descent — a man who worked sunrise to sunset, who believed that rest was something you earned, not something you needed. His hands were calloused, his heart steady, and his resilience seemed endless. But like so many men, he ignored the quiet signs that his body was asking for care.
When I founded Søle Nordic Wellness, I carried him with me — in every stone of the sauna, every breath of steam, every ritual of renewal. Søle was built as a sanctuary for those who give so much of themselves, and rarely pause long enough to receive.
And as a mother of three sons, I carry an even deeper wish — that they grow into men who care for themselves. Who see rest not as weakness, but as wisdom. Who understand that tending to their health, their stress, and their emotional well-being is part of what it means to be strong.
Introducing Styrke & Stillhet — Strength & Stillness
This Movember, we honour men like my father — strong, hardworking, and often silently struggling.
Our ritual, Styrke & Stillhet, meaning Strength and Stillness, invites men to step away from the noise and reconnect with what truly sustains them.
Inspired by traditional Scandinavian wellness, it’s an experience that uses contrast — hot and cold, motion and rest — to bring the body and mind back into balance.
🔥 Finnish Hot Stone Sauna – Release what you carry. Let the heat loosen the weight of long days and overworked muscles.
❄ Cold Plunge – Step into clarity. The shock awakens, the breath returns, and suddenly, you feel alive again.
🌬 Salt Haven – Sit in the stillness. Let the salt air cleanse not just your lungs, but your mind.
Styrke & Stillhet is a two-hour, self-guided reset — for men who may not know how to ask for help, but know deep down that something needs to change. It’s a reminder that real strength isn’t found in pushing harder, but in pausing deeply.
More Than a Spa Day — A Moment of Awareness
Movember isn’t just about moustaches. It’s about awareness — for prostate cancer, for men’s mental health, for the quiet struggles too many face alone.
At Søle, we see how many men walk through our doors carrying invisible burdens. They come for muscle recovery or stress relief, but what they truly need is permission — to breathe, to slow down, to reconnect.
This November, we’re inviting men across Edmonton and beyond to make Styrke & Stillhet part of their wellness story. Come as you are — tired, tense, uncertain — and leave grounded, lighter, and more yourself than when you walked in.
In Memory and in Motion
Every time I see the steam rise off the rocks, I think of my dad — of the way he found peace in the quiet moments between chores, in the smell of the earth after rain, in the simple beauty of work well done.
The Nordic way teaches that balance comes from rhythm — from the dance between heat and cold, work and rest, giving and receiving.
So this Movember, honour the men in your life — your fathers, your brothers, your sons, or yourself — by giving the gift of time to restore.
Book Styrke & Stillhet. Breathe deeply. Sit with the silence. And remember that caring for yourself is one of the strongest things you can do.
